Job Details
Requirements
- Review charges and assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes for physician services.
- Interpret clinical documentation (progress notes, operative reports, discharge summaries) to ensure correct coding.
- Enter codes, diagnoses, modifiers, and provider details into the billing system.
- Communicate with physicians and management to clarify procedures and ensure proper coding.
- Audit patient logs and clinical activity reports to confirm all billable services are captured.
- Monitor and follow up on coding to ensure compliance with regulatory and payer guidelines.
- Match processes and logging systems for internal audit standards.
- Collaborate with reimbursement staff and other billing office team members to resolve coding inquiries.
- Participate in departmental meetings, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and contribute to achieving departmental goals.
Qualifications
Education:
- Coding Certification from a nationally recognized program requiring CEU submission for renewal (preferably CPC or CCS).
Experience:
- OB/GYN or MFM Office Billing and Coding experience strongly preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex medical documentation.
- Proficiency in billing systems and coding software.

The expected pay for the position ranges from $23.32 - $38.46 per hour. The actual pay range will be computed based on years of relevant experience.
